It’s That Time

Overflow: A Night of Music

Business, opportunities and songwriting. It seems that’s all I’ve had since I held off on this blog for a bit and quit focusing so much on getting a job a few months ago.

In that time, priorities have come together, and I’ve learned about what I really want to do with my life. I’ve led worship more than I ever have, and I’m busier than I ever have been, and I’m happier than I ever remember being because of it.

Most notably, the upcoming worship service/recording session/fundraiser “Overflow: The Night of Worship” is just an idea that came on a whim. Two weeks from now, it will actually happen. I never imagined it coming this far.

It’s funny what kind of opportunities God puts in front of you when you stop worrying about jobs and position.

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 3:25-33)

Those verses, that paragraph of scripture, has meant the world to me over the last few months. Instead of just advancing myself, I’ve looked toward the Kingdom, and God has provided opportunities and success in my life more than He ever has.

So chill out if you’re stressed out for a job, It’s a rough time, but provision one way or another is kind of what God does. He made food fall from the sky; certainly He can make sure you’re provided for for a little while.
